Before
After
From rehabilitated classrooms and new school facilities to planned transformer installations, solar streetlights, water infrastructure, agricultural support and vocational training, constituency development initiatives are progressing across Etsako East, Etsako Central and Etsako West.
The commissioning of a rehabilitated classroom block at Omoaka Primary School in Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area, over the weekend of October 24–25, 2026, marks a completed milestone in the wider school rehabilitation programme facilitated by the Member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Anamero Dekeri.
The project is part of a broader intervention under which more than 18 classroom blocks have been earmarked for rehabilitation and related construction works across the constituency. According to the latest project update, one contractor has delivered a completed block, which has now been commissioned, while work under the wider programme continues.
The intervention addresses a fundamental aspect of education: the condition of the facilities in which children learn and teachers work. A functional classroom requires more than four walls and a roof. It needs adequate furniture, secure doors and windows, sound flooring, proper ventilation and other essential facilities that help create a suitable environment for teaching and learning.
The completed Omoaka Primary School block comprises three classrooms with 42 desks. Its commissioning provides a tangible milestone within a programme intended to improve school infrastructure across the three local government areas that make up Etsako Federal Constituency.
As the remaining projects progress, attention will turn to their delivery, the quality of the work and the facilities available to pupils and teachers when the individual buildings are completed.
A Wider School Rehabilitation and Construction Programme
The school programme extends beyond one community, with projects identified across Etsako East, Etsako Central and Etsako West. The current schedule includes three- and four-classroom blocks, furniture provision at designated schools, and rehabilitation of existing facilities.

Ikabigbo Primary School, Ikabigbo Ward 12: Rehabilitation of a three-classroom block with 42 desks.
These 14 named entries form part of the wider programme of more than 18 classroom blocks earmarked for intervention.
What the School Works Cover
The planned scope of work varies according to each school’s needs and the specifications of the particular project. The programme includes several essential areas of building repair and improvement:
Roofing: Replacement of roofs or major repairs where necessary.
Ceilings: Installation and repairs to damaged ceiling sections.
Doors and windows: Ironwork and repairs or replacement of damaged fittings.
Flooring: Rehabilitation and tiling where specified.
Walls: Plastering and repairs to damaged surfaces.
Furniture: Teachers’ chairs and desks, alongside pupils’ and students’ desks at designated locations.
Painting: Painting and finishing of affected buildings.
Sanitation and water: Repairs to toilets, drainage systems and water points.
Structural works: Masonry, concrete and other necessary structural repairs.
These works address both the appearance and the functionality of school facilities. Roofs and walls protect buildings from weather, suitable flooring and furniture support everyday classroom activities, and functioning sanitation and water facilities contribute to a more usable school environment.
The commissioning of Omoaka Primary School gives the wider programme a completed project that can be documented and assessed. As the remaining school projects progress, further updates can show which facilities have been delivered and which are still under construction or rehabilitation.
Four Transformer Installations Planned Across Etsako
Beyond education, electricity infrastructure remains another important part of the constituency development programme.
Four additional transformer projects are scheduled for supply and installation in communities across Etsako Federal Constituency. Each project involves a 500kVA transformer and is intended to support electricity infrastructure in the beneficiary community.
The planned installations are as follows:
1. Jattu–Uzairue, Etsako West LGA
Supply and installation of a 500kVA transformer.
2. Ogute, Okpella, Etsako East LGA
Supply and installation of a 500kVA transformer.
3. Iyakpi, South Ibie, Etsako West LGA
Supply and installation of a 500kVA transformer.
4. Ugbekpe, Ekperi, Etsako Central LGA
Supply and installation of a 500kVA transformer.
The installations are expected to extend the programme’s electricity infrastructure interventions to communities in all three local government areas. The transformer projects are planned for installation shortly and should therefore be distinguished from projects already completed or commissioned.
Transformers are important components of local electricity distribution networks. Their effectiveness depends not only on their capacity but also on the condition of the distribution network, the available power supply and the requirements of the communities they serve. The completion and commissioning of these installations will be important milestones to document as the work advances.
The four projects also complement other electricity-related initiatives previously identified in the constituency project portfolio, including solar streetlight installations and the provision and installation of a transformer at Iddo, Okpella.
Solar streetlight and transformer projects remain among the ongoing activities highlighted in the current constituency update. Further reporting as work progresses can identify the relevant locations, installation status and commissioning details.
Solar Streetlights and Water Infrastructure
Community infrastructure extends beyond electricity distribution. Earlier constituency project records have also included solar streetlight installations at multiple locations and solar-powered boreholes intended to improve access to water in communities across Etsako.
Solar streetlights provide lighting in public areas after dark, while solar-powered boreholes can bring water closer to households and community users. These interventions address practical needs that affect residents’ daily routines and the use of public spaces.
The wider portfolio has identified solar streetlight installations at 31 locations and solar-powered boreholes in 10 communities across the constituency. Locations previously listed include communities in Okpella, Uzairue, Ekperi, Agenebode and Auchi.
These figures relate to previously documented project records. The status of each individual installation should be confirmed separately when reporting whether it is completed, operational or still undergoing work.
Other reported interventions have included a mini garri-processing line at Ewo Market in Okpella, linking community development with local processing and economic activity.
Taken together, these projects illustrate the range of infrastructure needs being addressed, from classrooms and water access to electricity and facilities that can support local livelihoods.
Empowerment Programmes for Farmers, Artisans and Youths
Development also depends on people’s ability to earn a living, build businesses and acquire skills that respond to market needs. Several empowerment programmes facilitated by Hon. Anamero have focused on those objectives.
Empowering 1,176 Farmers and Artisans
In April 2026, an empowerment programme facilitated by Hon. Anamero and conducted in collaboration with the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria reached 1,176 farmers and artisans across Etsako East, Etsako Central and Etsako West.
The programme combined training with tools and other forms of support for participants in different trades. Beneficiaries included farmers, mechanics, tailors, carpenters and other skilled workers.
The initiative was designed to improve participants’ productive capacity, expand access to practical resources and support self-employment and small-business development.
Skills Acquisition for Youths and Women
A separate programme organised in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency took place at Lecky Event Center in Auchi on April 9 and 10, 2026.
The training focused on the production of essential hygiene products, including soap and disinfectants. Its purpose was to provide participating youths and women with practical skills they could use to establish or develop small-scale production businesses.
Such training can provide an additional route into entrepreneurship, particularly when participants are able to obtain the materials, equipment, financing and market access required to sustain production.
Specialised Automotive Training
In August 2026, Hon. Anamero also sponsored a specialised automotive skills development programme for youths and technicians. The training focused on heavy-duty vehicles, including agricultural tractors, and was scheduled to take place at the NABTEC Headquarters in Benin City from August 10 to 21.
The programme targeted technical skills relevant to vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair. Expertise in heavy-duty vehicles can be useful in sectors such as agriculture, construction, transportation and logistics.
Alongside the other empowerment initiatives, the automotive programme demonstrates the range of skills being targeted, from small-scale manufacturing and agricultural work to specialised mechanical services.
Education Support and Legislative Initiatives
The current school rehabilitation programme sits alongside other education-related interventions documented in the constituency’s project record.
Earlier reports have identified classroom projects, provision of school desks, examination support, bursaries, summer lessons and educational materials. Such interventions serve different purposes: infrastructure provides physical learning spaces, furniture supports classroom use, and direct educational assistance can help students access learning opportunities.
Hon. Anamero’s legislative record has also included proposals for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Uluoke–Uzairue, Etsako West, and a Federal College of Education (Technical) in Okpella, Etsako East.
These legislative proposals should be distinguished from projects that have already been completed. They represent efforts to advance the establishment of additional institutions, whereas construction, rehabilitation and commissioning refer to different stages in the delivery of physical infrastructure.
A transparent project record should continue to show the status of each initiative clearly—whether it is proposed, under consideration, approved, under construction or completed.
Redefining Representation Through Public Service
The breadth of the reported initiatives—from school rehabilitation and electricity infrastructure to water access, agricultural support, vocational training and education assistance—has become a central theme in the Anamero Media Team’s account of Hon. Anamero’s constituency work.
The team describes the range of interventions as unprecedented in the history of representation in the House of Representatives, adding that Hon. Anamero is “redefining representation.”
It further states: “True to his words, it is becoming evident that he truly came to make sacrifices in public service.”
These statements capture the Media Team’s view of the programme and its significance. The projects themselves provide the specific record against which progress can be followed: the school facilities commissioned, the remaining classroom blocks earmarked for work, the transformer installations planned, and the infrastructure and empowerment initiatives being implemented across the constituency.
For constituents, continued publication of project locations, delivery milestones and commissioning updates will be essential to understanding the scope and progress of the interventions.
From Announcements to Delivery: What Comes Next?
The commissioning of Omoaka Primary School is one completed milestone within a wider development programme. The next steps include progressing the remaining school projects, completing the planned transformer installations and continuing work on other constituency infrastructure initiatives.
Each completed school facility can be documented with photographs, video, its location, the number of classrooms provided and the facilities included. Similarly, transformer updates can identify when each installation begins, when it is completed and when it is commissioned.
This type of reporting gives residents a clearer picture of the work taking place in their communities and provides a record of delivery over time.
As activities continue across Etsako East, Etsako Central and Etsako West, further updates will highlight completed projects, developments at active sites and the next milestones in the programme.
Watch this space for more photographs, videos and progress reports as additional school facilities are delivered and other constituency projects advance across Etsako Federal Constituency.
