Etsako East Councillors Pay Courtesy Visit to Hon. Anamero Dekeri, Raise Key Concerns on Security, Development, and Governance

The Office of Hon. Anamero Dekeri recently received a courtesy visit from councillors of Etsako East Local Government Area, who came to express their appreciation for his impressive work across the Etsako Federal Constituency.

During the interactive session, the councillors commended Hon. Anamero Dekeri for his impactful developmental strides, including ongoing projects such as the construction of solar-powered boreholes, renovation and construction of school blocks, empowerment programs, and solar streetlight installations across various communities.

The conversation also delved into pressing concerns raised by the councillors, most notably:

  • The spate of kidnappings and general insecurity
  • The need for the creation of more states and local governments
  • The condition of the Okpella–Agenebode Road

In response, Hon. Anamero Dekeri acknowledged the gravity of the security situation, affirming that he is actively engaging with relevant authorities and security stakeholders to address the menace.

On the creation of states and local governments, he emphasized that these ambitions are not out of reach. He revealed that he is working with his colleagues at the National Assembly to push for constitutional reforms that reflect the unique needs of the people of Edo North.

“The reasons raised by others clamouring for more states and local governments are no different from ours. Our population and economic growth in Etsako justify the creation of at least two additional local government areas from Edo North,” he said.

Concerning the Okpella–Agenebode Road, Hon. Anamero Dekeri assured the councillors that plans are already underway under the supervision of the Hon. Minister of Works. He urged for patience, stating that visible progress would soon be seen.

In closing, Hon. Anamero Dekeri expressed gratitude to the councillors for their visit and reaffirmed his commitment to representing the people of Etsako with integrity and dedication, ensuring that their voices are heard at the highest levels of national decision-making.
