Assessing the Impact: Addressing Erosion Damage in Iddo, Okpella

Yesterday, I had the privilege of personally visiting the Iddo community in Okpella to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the situation following the recent heavy rainfall. It was truly disheartening to witness the extent of damage inflicted on the Iddo bridge and its surrounding areas due to the relentless erosion, which led to the bridge’s overflow.

In this challenging time, my heart goes out to the resilient people of Iddo, especially the young man who tragically lost his vehicle to the powerful storm. Experiencing the aftermath of such a natural disaster is never easy, and I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all those affected.

I want to reassure the entire Iddo community that I am fully committed to addressing this issue on your behalf. I will utilize the platform of the National Assembly to communicate the gravity of the situation to all relevant authorities. Together, we will ensure that the necessary actions are taken promptly to mitigate the damage, prevent further erosion, and provide lasting solutions to protect the community from future natural disasters. Your well-being and safety are of utmost importance to me, and I will spare no effort in advocating for your needs and concerns.

Let us stand together in solidarity as we work towards a safer and more secure future for Iddo and its resilient residents.
