In a bold and united effort to combat rising insecurity, the Edo North Security Summit was held today at Iyamho, Edo State. The well-attended gathering brought together top political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies, and youth bodies from across the region.

During the summit, Hon. Anamero Sunday Dekeri, Member of the House of Representatives representing Etsako Federal Constituency, emphasized the importance of local collaboration in addressing security challenges. He called on security agencies to track down community-based collaborators who may be aiding kidnappers, insisting that such crimes cannot occur without internal support.

Hon. Anamero also stressed the vital role of traditional rulers, youth leaders, and community influencers in the fight against crime, urging them to become frontline defenders of their communities.

Edo State Governor, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, reassured citizens of his administration’s strong resolve to end the wave of kidnappings and restore peace across the state.

In his remarks, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who hosted the summit, condemned the rising spate of violence and kidnappings, pledging full support to the Governor’s agenda to ensure a safer Edo.

The summit marks a significant step in Edo North’s collective action plan toward restoring lasting peace and security in the region.
